Warfare Law and Pseudo History

While preparing this selection of articles completed between 1996 and 2010, I realised (rather to my alarm) that it is almost half a century since I first began to take an interest in the history of the Ottoman Empire, prompting me to consider the changes that have occurred in Ottoman studies since the 1960s and 1970s.
