The Transformation of the Turkish Education System from the Ottoman to the Republic

During my undergraduate education, the Ottoman education system began to attract my attention. Since my master's thesis was on Ottoman-Turkistan Scientific Relations, I started to understand the history of education better. I understood the establishment of the education system in the Ottoman State and the outside geographies that aected this establishment. The subject of my doctoral thesis was the Transition from Ottoman Darülfünun to the Republican University. With this thesis, I learned about the establishment of a Western-style university in the Ottoman State and the changes in the higher education experienced with the transition to the Republic. The fact that my associate professorship thesis was University and Politics in Turkey contributed greatly to my specialization in this field. I tried to share this knowledge with my students with the History of Education course I taught between 1994-2010.
