Kitap Hakkında
Silicone or more correctly polysiloxane is a familiar term to describe a whole family of organic silicon compounds, which are based on a molecular body or chain containing silicon atoms and oxygen in one. They range from waterdiluted products to oil-like fluids and all types of grease, gel, rubber, and solid resins.Silicones were introduced to the market in the mid-1940s, however, in the space of 60 years, they have been used in almost all major industries; The reason is the characteristics that are difficult to achieve in common organic polymers. These effective materials have a unique combination of thermal stability at high temperatures and elastomeric properties at low temperatures.Other characteristics of these materials are high resistance to high humidity, weathering, and radiation. Physically, it has a large temperature range and unusual surface properties such as water repellency. In this book, while introducing these compounds with reference to the naming of general properties, structure, basic production methods, identification methods, environmental aspects, safety and health tips, properties, and applications, the most important types of silicones such as copolymers, resins, fluids, rubber,s and an interesting example, sesquioxane, is examined in more detail.
