Râna; Between Two Worlds

As the midfiwe announces the birth of a girl at the home of a government minister, a bomb exploding at the Istanbul mosque where the Sultan is attending the congregational prayer resounds over the Bosphorus. Râna will grow up amidst the frenzied politics of the fall of the Ottoman Empire and the rise of the Turkish Republic.
