The second volume of The Ottoman Empire in World War I: Triumph and Tragedy discusses the Ottoman in volvement in the first two years of World War I, from November 1914 to the summer of 1916, and emphasizes principally the miliyary and diplomatic events of the time including the Ottoman victories at the Dardanelles and Kutülamare in Iraq and defeats in the Caucasus and the Suez Canal... Like the first volume, it also is based on current published und unpublished research, combined with the author's own research into the archives of some of the major nations that were involved in the conflict. |
