Once upon a time, a queen had twin baby girls. She invited a dozen fairies to visit. In those days, when fairies came to call, they made gifts to the new babies. They often turned ordinary infants into marvels of wit and grace. But sometimes parents who sought fairy gifts got more than they bargained. A öagnificent banquet was prepared for the faires. As they were about to sit down, Old Mag appeared. She was the meanest of a family of mean fairies.
