Kitap Tanıtımı This work contains various theses and arguments from research carried out in Ireland, Canada, and the United States. The various subjects range from comparative studies with Turkish society including taboos, constitutional and human rights, terrorism, and the military. The general approach taken is from an international/human rights perspective, and is aimed at furthering the goal of achieving greater protection of said rights in modern democracies. The greater purpose of this work is to argue for greater defense of the establishment and protections of the modern rule of law. The main motivation for this greater purpose is to help dravv attention to the inability of the Turkish legal sys-tem to free itself from arcane and outdated legal traditions, interpretations, and practices, with the hope that it will move tovvards a more thorough legal, social, and historical methodology in its execution.
